ALIEN SENTENCED AFTER PLEADING GUILTY TO ILLEGAL RE-ENTRY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HONORATO HERNANDEZ-CASTILLO, age 55, a resident of Mexico, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt to nine (9) months imprisonment after pleading guilty to one count of illegal re-entry by an alien previously deported subsequent to a conviction for a felony, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, HONORATO HERNANDEZ-CASTILLO pled guilty to being an alien who was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States in St. Tammany Parish, LA without the Attorney General of the United States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to his re-application for admission into the United States.
The case was investigated by the U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre Jones.
