March 13, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLVIN ORLANDO RAMIREZ-CARCAMO, age 33, a resident of Honduras, was sentenced by U. S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon yesterday to seven (7) months imprisonment with credit for time served after pleading guilty to one-count of illegal re-entry by an alien previously deported, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, OLVIN ORLANDO RAMIREZ-CARCAMO was charged with being an alien who was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States in Orleans Parish, Louisiana without the Attorney General of the United States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to his re-application for admission into the United States. RAMIREZ-CARCAMO was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury on August 23, 2007.

The case was investigated by the U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
