Trails: Visitor's must stay on established walking trails and hard surfaces at all times.

Climbing: Climbing Mount Rushmore is prohibited.

Fires & Hunting: Never permitted.

Protection of Park Resources: The natural and cultural resources are protected. Picking up rocks, collecting plants or feeding wildlife are prohibited. Please do not litter.

Smoking, Food and Beverages: Smoking, food and Beverages are prohibited in the Information Center, Lincoln Borglum Museum/Visitor Center, Sculptor's Studio and Concession Building. Smoking is allowed outside, except in the Amphitheater during performances. Please use disposal bins located outside the buildings for smoking materials.

Many Native tribes used this flower to treat headaches. The yellow leaves were also used to produce a yellow dye. The flower blooms at Mount Rushmore from July to September.
