Positions at Jewel Cave National Monument are typically announced in January.  As of Wednesday, February 4, 2009 these announcements through the USA Jobs website are closed. Applications have been reviewed and potential applicants have been scheduled for interview sessions.

  • Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP Program) 

The STEP program is geared toward students enrolled in a university or college, and registered for at least half time for the semester following employment.  Enhance your personal and professional skills through a seasonal position at Jewel Cave National Monument.

For those students who are interested in working at Jewel Cave, and are enrolled in college for the 2009 fall semester, please submit a cover letter and resume in order to apply.

Provides an opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills through a volunteer position with the National Park Service.

Did You Know?
Due to changes in barometric pressure, strong winds blow through Jewel Cave’s passages miles from the natural entrance. Areas in the cave where the wind is exceptionally strong or loud have names like Hurricane Corner, Whistle Stop, Exhaust Pipe, Humdinger, and Drafty Maneuver.
