Leingang, now retired Executive Officer of Naval Station Everett, provides the Navy's perspective to veterans in Marysville at one of four "Conversations with Veterans" Larsen hosted in November. At the meetings, Larsen heard from veterans about the issues important to them and spoke about his work bringing health care and services closer to veterans in Northwest Washington.

- Larsen visits with First Lieutenant Bryan Jackson of Oak Harbor, Washington, and his parents, Captain Walt Jackson and Carol Jackson, at the Pentagon ceremony honoring First Lieutenant Jackson for receiving the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in combat operations in Iraq. The Distinguished Service Cross is the second-highest military decoration awarded by the United States Army.
