Activities of the Division of Health Assessment and ConsultationThe Division of Health Assessment and Consultation (DHAC) carries out its site-related responsibilities in many ways. Some of these activities are in concert with environmental health work done by individual states. Other activities are a result of citizens or citizens' groups requesting assistance in determining the impact of chemical releases in their communities through the petition process, but mostly as a result of the mandates of the CERCLA law, at Superfund sites around the nation. To date, has DHAC performed more than 5,000 health activities in the United States and its Territories (Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands). You can review some of these activities through ATSDR's HazDat Database. The majority of ATSDR's Final Public Health Assessments conducted between October 1992 to date are available online.
