Summer is one of the busiest times for King County Animal Care and Control with dozens of cats, dogs and even rabbits awaiting adoption and others awaiting pickup by their owners.
The new Kent Animal Shelter public hours are:
Mondays, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
“Our new expanded hours will make it more convenient for people to see potential pets in our shelters and use our services in the evenings and on weekends when they have more time,” says Acting Manager Al Dams. “The King County Animal Control Officer’s Guild worked with me to make the time changes possible because we’re all committed to getting every adoptable pet that comes through our doors into a loving home.”
King County Animal Care and Control is also considering expanding the public hours at its Crossroad Shelter in Bellevue.
