Family Access Networkwas awarded a grant for $277,469 under the Foundations for Learning Grants Program, for the Deschutes County Readiness to Learn Through Early Childhood Development Partnership. The major goals of this project are to improve student achievement and develop safe schools and strong character. Goals will be achieved through a collaboration composed of local early childhood providers and the Local Interagency Coordinating Council. The project seeks to reach goals by delivering services to eligible children and their families that foster emotional, behavioral and social development, as well as increased numbers of families accessing needed individualized services for eligible children.

Kindering Center was awarded a grant for $296,919 under the Foundations for Learning Grants Program, for the Children Encouraged by Relationships In Secure Homes (CHERISH) project. The goal of this project is to meet the needs of the growing population of very young children living in foster and kinship care. Through a structured set of assessments and interventions, CHERISH seeks to educate and guide each caregiver/child pair through the process of developing a healthy attachment relationship, and provide developmental therapy and early education to support children in attaining the emotional, social, and behavioral development necessary to succeed in school.

Education Connection was awarded a grant for $266,685 under the Foundations for Learning Grants Program, for The Happy Children and Families Project. The goal of the project is to improve student achievement by improving young children’s social, behavioral, and emotional well-being. The objectives of the program are: (1) Enhance and deliver child-specific services to children experiencing social, emotional and behavioral challenges, utilizing best practices; and (2) Establish a high-quality, seamless, and responsive service delivery system for young children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that is respectful to the diversity of families.
