Secretary Rice Addresses NATO Afghanistan Contributing Nations Meeting
Secretary Rice (Jan. 26): "...Let’s be clear: We are winning in Afghanistan. Afghan police officers are now enforcing laws made by a freely-elected parliament. New roads, new hospitals, and new jobs are giving fresh hope to a nation eager to prosper. International Community Committed to Lebanon's Success
Secretary Rice (Jan. 25): "The United States remains committed to a sovereign, democratic, and prosperous Lebanon, and we are grateful for the many private and public partners, throughout the world, who are supporting the efforts of this democratic government of Prime Minister Siniora to bring peace, and stability, and economic opportunity to its people." full text

Secretary Rice traveled to Paris, France to lead the U.S. Delegation to the International Conference for Support to Lebanon. She met with Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora and private sector CEOs involved in the rebuilding of Lebanon and attended the working session of the Lebanon conference. She then attended the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting in Brussels, Belgium on January 26.
