Your donation helps us bring legal information and knowledge to countless people around the world. It helps us build and maintain a resource that is relied on by people of all kinds and in all places — businessmen, nurses, policemen, bankers, managers, government officials, and creators of law in developing countries, among many others. Best of all, we offer direct access to legal information to anyone who wants to understand legal issues that figure in the news or impinge on their lives.

We are not a branch of government. We receive no government support or tax money beyond that which goes to our parent institution. We do not clutter the site with banner ads. The LII is supported by generous gifts from our members and friends, by fees from consulting work done by its staff, and by the Cornell Law School. All gifts are tax-deductible. We welcome inquiries from anyone who wishes to sponsor a particular page or resource.
