Promoting Healthy Feeding Relationships and Nurturing Parent Practices
Through this project WIC staff were trained to promote and improve parent’s knowledge and skills in forming healthy feeding relationships. The feeding relationship was conceptualized as a metaphor for a healthy parent-child relationship and healthy/positive family functioning. In addition parenting classes were provided to WIC participants using an evidence-based parenting program. Review final report.

Something to Smile About Campaign
These campaign materials were developed by Alabama to institute a culturally sensitive, low-literacy nutrition education model for the prevention of Early Childhood Caries (ECC). Diverse ethnic groups in the WIC population were interviewed in focus groups, including African-American, American Indian, and Hispanic WIC participants or their caretakers at seven WIC sites.
