October 8, 2008

The Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) Program Office is hosting a town hall meeting today to discuss plans for fiscal year 2010. The meeting is from 1:15 to 3 p.m. in the Physics Building Auditorium.

After an overview of the Laboratory's goals for LDRD by Duncan McBranch, deputy principal associate director for Science, Technology, and Engineering (PADSTE), and LDRD Program Director Bill Priedhorsky, the meeting will be opened for questions from Laboratory researchers.

“The LDRD town hall meeting is our attempt to communicate the objectives of the program and how the program supports the evolving strategy of the Laboratory,” said Bob Kraus, LDRD deputy program director. “It’s also an opportunity for us to solicit ideas and suggestions from the Laboratory community in an endeavor to continually improve the program.”

The program office seeks input on LDRD performance and operations. LDRD objectives include stimulating scientific vitality, supporting Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration missions, and promoting valuable high-risk research and development.

The town hall meeting is open to all employees.
