KELLY NORDINI JOINS GOV. RITTER'S SENIOR STAFF

Gov. Bill Ritter announced today that Kelly Nordini, chief of staff for the state House of Representatives Majority Office and Speaker Andrew Romanoff, is joining the governor¿s senior staff as Director of Special Projects.

"Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge and a depth of experience in many areas," Gov. Ritter said "Her expertise, her relationships with constituent groups across the state and her energy will add an exciting element to the Governor's Office."

In her new role, Nordini, 37, will coordinate intergovernmental relations, external relations and strategic projects for the Governor's Office. She is expected to start in mid-June.

"I am honored to be joining Gov. Ritter and the many talented people in the Governor's Office," Nordini said. "It will be a privilege to serve the people of Colorado in this new capacity as we try to solve some of the major challenges facing the state today and in the years to come."

Nordini has served as chief of staff for the House leadership since December 2004. She has been responsible for the development of the legislative agenda as well as managing communications and administrative staff. She also acts as chief liaison with the Senate, Governor's Office and key constituencies. Among her major accomplishments: helping to steer the successful negotiation of state budget legislation that led to Referenda C & D in 2005.

Her previous experience includes four years as associate director of the Transit Alliance (2000 to 2004); FasTracks campaign (2004); transportation program director for Environment Colorado (1996 to 2000); and director of AmeriCorps' Neighborhood Green Corps (1994 to 1996). She is a 1991 graduate of Dickinson College in Pennsylvania.

"Kelly has been an indispensable leader," Speaker Romanoff said. "Our loss is the Governor¿s gain."
