Biography of Elizabeth L. DibbleDeputy Assistant Secretary Elizabeth L. Dibble assumed the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA) in June 2004. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ms. Dibble’s overseas assignments have included tours in Damascus, Islamabad, Tunis and London. She has also served as Director of NEA’s Office of Peace Process and Regional Affairs after an assignment as Deputy Director of the same office; Deputy Director of the Office of Development Finance in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs (EB); Economic/Commercial Officer in the trade office in EB; and International Relations Officer in the Office for Combating Terrorism. She was also assigned to the Office of the United States Trade Representative as the Assistant Chief Textile Negotiator for several years. Ms. Dibble was born in New Jersey.
