Regional Disaster Information Center
In 2001, the Regional Disaster Information Center launched a project to improve access to disaster and health information in Central America, with the financial and technical support of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the Pan American Health Organization, and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction. The project, Central American Network for Disaster and Health Information (CANDHI), contributes to disaster reduction in the target countries through capacity building activities in the area of disaster-related information management. This page provides additional information about CANDHI, including background, goals and objectives, activities undertaken, and major achievements.
