Laboratory of Immunopathology

The Laboratory of Immunopathology (LIP) studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in normal development and differentiation as well as neoplastic transformation. Basic studies utilizing techniques from molecular and cell biology, immunology, and pathology are combined with observations of mice with naturally occurring or induced mutation or high-level retrovirus expression to model processes that develop in humans.

Major current emphases in the Virology and Cellular Immunology Section include studies of mouse models of leukemia and B-cell lineage lymphomas. Studies in the Molecular Pathology Section are focused on the roles of CTCF and BORIS in the (epi)genetics of normative biology and cancer.
