Description

This page welcomes to the Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control (OHHLC), established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in order to bring together health and housing professionals in a concerted effort to eliminate lead-based paint hazards in America's privately-owned and low-income housing. The OHHLC is unique among federal agencies dealing with lead-hazards, as the Office is staffed to bring lead health science to bear directly upon America's housing. Core activities of the Office include: operate a grant program to develop and implement cost effective methods for the inspection and reduction of lead-based paint hazards, operate a Healthy Homes program to protect children and their families from health and safety hazards in the home, develop lead-based paint regulations, and provide technical assistance.
