Occupational employment to 2005

George T. Silvestri
Economist, Office of Employment Projections, Bureau of Labor Statistics

The economy is expected to continue generating jobs for workers at all levels of education and training, although average growth will be greater for occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or more education there for those requiring less training. This article compares 1994-2005 projected changes in the structure of employment at the major occupational group level with the changes that occurred over the previous 11-year period, 1983-1994.
