EPA Region 2 is responsible for ensuring that facilities in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, whether public or private, are complying with environmental requirements.  This is accomplished by successfully combining enforcement with compliance incentives and environmental assistance activities.
