I-Net: King County's Institutional Network

The Institutional Network (I-Net) is a carrier-class state-of-the-art fiber optic network. The I-Net is made possible to King County through renewal of the County's cable TV franchises with TCI and Viacom cable companies (now Comcast). I-Net is a stable, reliable, and affordable system that connects public facilities in King County. The I-Net provides not just a method of sharing data, but also a chance to share information and ideas between schools, governments, fire stations, libraries, and the public. The network is used for data, voice, and video communications.
