American
Archives: Documents of the American Revolution, 1774-1776
Presents the full text of Peter Force's American
Archives. Force, printer and document collector,
intended to publish rare pamphlets, correspondence, and
proceedings relating to the "Origin, Settlement, and
Progress of the Colonies in North America" that covered
the time period 1763-1789. After years of work, the final
(but unfinished) result was nine volumes of material covering
the years 1774-1776. Since this material is of extreme importance
to scholars of the Revolutionary War period, and is collected
in this one source, Northern Illinois University Libraries
received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities
in order to provide free electronic access to Force's American
Archives.

Revolution Digital Learning Project
The site is built upon the rich library and museum collections
of the New-York Historical Society, including newspapers
from nearly all of the thirteen colonies, broadsides, diaries,
letters, maps, and family papers.
The
American Revolution - A Documentary History
The Avalon Project at Yale Law School presents a compilation
of primary source documents from 1764 to 1783 associated
with the American Revolution.

Lighting Freedom's Flame
This is the official National Park Service American Revolution
Web site. It contains a timeline, a feature on the Revolution
day by day, educational activities for students, and lesson
plans tied to the American Revolution. It also includes
information about National Parks associated with the American
Revolution.
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Massachusetts Historical Society's online exhibit on
the Battle of Bunker Hill. The exhibit presents personal
accounts and eyewitness descriptions of the battle, along
with contemporary maps, drawings, engravings, broadsides,
and artifacts, either preserved by the participants or found
on the battlefield.

This site on the American Revolution is a companion to
the award-winning series produced by PBS. It contains educational
resources such as a timeline of the Revolution, bibliographies,
links to related sites, and lesson plans.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History presents
a variety of resources to assist teachers and students
studying the American Revolution, including primary source
documents, learning tools, maps, a timeline, and links
to related Web sites.

by the Archives Library Information Center at the National
Archives and Records Administration. It includes links to
documents and images at the National Archives, as well as

The U.S. Army Center of Military History provides the full
text of online books related to the Revolutionary War.
Spy Letters of the
American Revolution
This online exhibit from the Sir Henry Clinton Collection
at the Clements Library, University of Michigan, examines
the everyday intelligence operations of both the British
and American armies. Many of the letters highlighted in
this digital exhibit were pivotal to the successes and failures
of sieges, battles, and surprise attacks. The exhibit includes
a gallery of letters, a timeline, biographical information,
stories, and a variety of educational resources.
