2008 IPM Innovator Awards Ceremony
January 14, 2009.  The California Department of Pesticide Regulation will honor groups and individuals that demonstrated IPM leadership in 2008. The IPM Innovator Awards Ceremony will take place January 22, 2009 in Sacramento, CA. More.

Organic Land Care Five-Day Course
January 9, 2009.  The Northeast Organic Farming Association is holding its eigth annual 30-hour accreditation
course for professionals that provides the education needed for an understanding of organic land care design and maintenance. The five-day course will be held in four different Northeast states
during January and February 2009. More.

A Charge to Implement IPM in All US Schools by 2015
January 7, 2009.  Leaders in school administration, school health, concerned parents, IPM professionals and other interested individuals are needed to help increase awareness and generate a commitment to school IPM. A Strategic Plan to implement IPM in all US schools by 2015, released today, assesses the current status, compiles best practices and sets out a plan of action to accomplish this goal. More.

Free Webinar Series on Implementing IPM
December 12, 2008.  The New England Asthma Regional Council, the Boston Public Health Commission and the
Boston Housing Authority are collaborating on a three-part webinar series on IPM. The information in the webinars applies mainly to Housing Authorities and landlords interested in

Postdoctoral Position Open at University of Florida
December 4, 2008.  A two-year funded postdoctoral position is currently available to evaluate biological control for the management of whiteflies in greenhouse grown tomatoes. Position goals include determining and demonstrating the efficacy of IPM and biological control on greenhouse tomatoes. More. (PDF)

Pennsylvania IPM Newsletter Available
December 3, 2008.  The Fall 2008 edition of the Pennsylvania IPM Program's newsletter includes information on stink bugs, honey bee research, and a new pest forecasting network. "Black Widow...Goes Green" Service Awarded Green Shield Certification 
November 3, 2008.  Black Widow Termite & Pest Control is the eighth provider in New York to achieve Green Shield Certification for one of its services. This certification ensures that if consumers choose the "Black Widow Goes Green" service, that IPM practices will be followed. More

Urban IPM Conference 
October 21, 2008.  The San Francisco Department of Environment will host their next urban IPM conference on January 28, 2009. The Plant Management Network's online resource, the Plant Disease Management Reports, has been updated for 2008. This year's collection of 560 searchable reports help growers, consultants, pesticide applicators, and extension specialists stay up-to-date with the latest in disease management information. More.

A new resource is available for those looking to develop or improve a structural IPM program. EcoWise Certified has created a tool kit that covers many issues such as how to hire and work with a professional IPM service provider. More at EcoWise Certified

New on 7/29/08!
The Northwest Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides has made available four different publications on non-herbicidal weed control. The four publications cover hardscapes and fencelines, shrub beds and landscaped areas, tree wells and turf. The information was complied by interviewing 20 parks staff in eight cities throughout the Northwest. More

New on 10/8/07! 
An educational IPM resource for schools is now available from The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. A 4-page fact sheet titled “Reducing Pesticide Exposures at Schools” summarizes what IPM is, what pesticides are, and recommendations on how to start IPM implementation in schools.  The fact sheet is available online in PDF format. Hard copies can also be ordered
