Hartford Octoberfest
This annual celebration has grown from a simple
cookout held in 1985 to become Ohio County's most popular social
event of the year. It includes a large parade, a chicken barbecue,
arts and crafts, and musical entertainment. It was founded as a
fund-raiser for the Children's Fund, a charity that distributes an
average of 500 new winter coats to needy children each year. The
Octoberfest is documented in text, photographs, and news
clippings.
