Expresiones Dance Company

This troupe presents traditional music and dance styles from 21 states of Mexico. Other styles that have influenced New Mexico culture are also represented: Latin, Matachine, Azteca, and hip-hop. The award-winning dancers have performed in Texas, Colorado, Florida (including Epcot Center in Disney World), and Kentucky as well as throughout New Mexico, and on national television. The troupe is an extension of the Expresiones Academia de Artes, which uses dance as the core of its performing arts curriculum while providing parallel instruction in music, art, theater, and history. Seven years old, the Academia was founded to foster cultural awareness and affirmation in children and adults.
