HOURS OF OPERATION:

The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The clinic is closed the first Friday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for all employee mandatory training. The facility is also closed on all Federal Holidays.

The Drug & Alcohol Treatment Program has evening clinics on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm. (these appointments must be scheduled in advance). 

 

Facility Information

Opened in February 1995 under the theme "Dedicated to Serve", the Columbus VA Outpatient Clinic is an independent, affiliated state-of-the-art ambulatory healthcare facility. Totaling more than 118,000 net square feet, the clinic offers primary care and many specialty clinics that have been designed to be more patient friendly, including closed-circuit patient education television. The ambulatory surgery suite and life support unit offer the latest in patient monitoring equipment. Columbus, Ohio's capital city, is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas of the country. The clinic serves well over 29,000 veterans and is a clinic of jurisdiction for fee services, serving 41 Central Ohio counties.

The education and training of residents and ancillary support personnel is a high priority at the clinic which has sixteen affiliations including the Ohio State University College of Medicine, as well as the Colleges of Optometry, Dental, Nursing and the School of Pharmacy.   The clinic received accreditation from the JCAHO in August of 2007.  A new 300,000 square food ambulatory care center is under construction at 420 James Road in Columbus, and is scheduled toopen in the fall of 2008.
