About Us
Vision
Recognition of old cemeteries as historic sites worthy of care and protection is growing steadily and many volunteer organizations and individuals are working to protect and restore the state's historic cemeteries.

In 1999 the legislature established a commission to assist in the coordination of restoration, maintenance and enhancement of historic cemeteries statewide. Originally named the Oregon Pioneer Cemetery Commission, in 2003 the board was re-titled Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries (OCHC) in recognition of the need for protection of all historic cemeteries.
