Federal CIO Council. The CIO Council serves as the principal interagency forum for improving practices in the design, modernization, use, sharing, and performance of Federal Government agency information resources.

Office of Management and Budget. The OMB web site identifies overall requirements for the Federal budget, information technology, financial management, government performance, and related topics.

National Institute of Standards and Technology. NIST is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Commerce Department's Technology Administration.

Information Technology Accessibility

The Access Board. The Access Board is an independent Federal agency devoted to accessibility for people with disabilities. The web site encompasses standards, technical assistance and training, publications, references to legislation, and other information.

Section 508. In 1998, Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act to require Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. The web site is operated by the Center for IT Accommodation (CITA) at the General Services Administration.

National Archives and Records Administration. NARA is an independent Federal agency that helps preserve our nation's history by overseeing the management of all Federal records.

Computer Security

The Federal Computer Incident Response Center. FedCIRC is the central coordination and analysis facility for computer security related issues affecting federal civilian agencies and departments. It is maintained by the General Services Administration.

The Computer Security Resource Center. CSRC is a web site maintained by the Computer Security Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
