Research Project: PUERTO RICO NURSERY

Location: Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center

2005 Annual Report

4d.Progress report.
This subordinate project is associated with the parent project 6225-21000-008-00D, Use of Diverse Germplasm for Genetic Improvement of Rice. This report serves to document research conducted under a non-funded cooperative agreement between ARS and the University of Puerto Rico. The research was done for generation advancement of rice genetic lines. Planted 10,200 rows in the Puerto Rico winter nursery between September 2004 and December 2004. Made numerous selections 100 to 130 days later, and planted progenies at Stuttgart in 2005 summer season. Impact is to save a year in genetic improvement cycles.
