Research Project: FARMER COOPERATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF CORN VARIETIES FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

Location: Corn Insects and Crop Genetics Research

2007 Annual Report

1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
To develop corn populations for sustainable agricultural systems.

1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Cooperate with breeder in providing resources and field management for sustainable and organic nurseries.

3.Progress Report
This report serves to document accomplishments conducted under a cooperative agreement between ARS and Don Adams. Additional details of research can be found in the parent project 3625-21000-046-00D Breeding High-Quality Corn for Sustainable, Low-Input Farming Systems. Because of ill health of the cooperator we did not plant an organic nursery on the farm in 2007. With return to good health of the farmer, we will plan to resume activities in 2008. The ADODR monitors activities by phone calls when needed and at minimum weekly visits to the farm during the growing season.
