This report serves to document research conducted under a Specific Cooperative Agreement between ARS and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station of Mississippi State University. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the inhouse project 6402-21000-004-00D entitled, "Develop soybean genotypes and management systems for early season and stress environments." Maturity group III, IV and V soybean varieties were planted at different dates and seeding rates to determine optimum seeding rates for specific planting scenarios. Fungicides were evaluated as single and sequential applications at various locations. Determinate and indeterminate varieties will be used. A spray as necessary treatment was compared with applications of different classes of fungicides applied at different reproductive stages of soybean. Various percentages of foliage were removed manually from bottom of plants at different reproductive stages of soybean to emulate effect of rust infection. Maturity group III, IV and V soybean varieties were planted following wheat and this system was compared to full season soybean in the Early Soybean Production System. An internet-based database (DELTASOY) has been completed, and allows producers to access information from soybean variety trials conducted in the midsouthern USA. It has been adopted by the Mississippi State University Extension Service as an application tool for soybean producers.
