Searching With Phrases

The FAST search engine interprets any string of characters surrounded with double quotation marks as a phrase.

Tip: To search for an exact phrase, surround the phrase with double quotation marks. For example, the following query finds pages that contain the phrase safety and health:

Tip: A string of capitalized words is assumed to be a name and is automatically searched for as a phrase. For example, Women's Bureau would return only documents containing the exact phrase "Women's Bureau".

If you are searching for a series of capitalized words such as names, separate them with commas. Also, when you type a word that contains punctuation as shown above, it looks for the word exactly as you typed it.
