Director recognizes Distinguished Performance Award winnersOctober 6, 2008
Laboratory Director Michael Anastasio, left, recognizes Alejandro (Alex) Enriquez and his daughter Sofia during the Laboratory's Distinguished Performance Awards reception last week. Enriquez of Pu238 Science and Technology (PMT-5) won an individual award for his efforts clearing waste from Room 201B of Technical Area 55's PF-4 and recovering the room for programmatic operations. Enriquez's innovative cleanup and inventory process resulted in a safer work environment for PMT-5 employees and greater efficiency in disposing of Pu-238 residue.

Working with a vendor, the team built and installed the new design at TA-55. Their change dramatically reduces the risk of contamination when worn-out gloves are replaced, making replacement simpler and more efficient. Other HeadlinessupercomputingPredictive Science |
