HOME OF THE BRAVE QUILT PROJECT

Throughout history, the United States has honored its military heroes in many ways--with plaques, parades, statues, memorials and, more recently, quilts. To date, the Home of the Brave Quilt Project (HOTBQP) has presented homemade, Civil War inspired quilts to the family members of Fallen Heroes who gave their lives while in service to our country, primarily during the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. We invite you to read the introduction to learn more about HOTBQP.

Quilters from across the world have united to stitch blocks, tops and quilts for our Fallen Heroes. If you would like to help with this endeavor, please contact me, or your state coordinator. Please click on the "Photo Gallery" link under the 'Fallen Heroes' tab to view photos of some of the quilts that have been presented to date.

OPERATION SUPPORT

This is a sister project to the Home of the Brave Quilt Project the purpose of which is to support our active service personnel deployed overseas to sustain Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan or Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq.

The project was founded as a result of one person responding to a request from a loved one for a "dark" pillowcase. One pillowcase led to another and another. With the support of on-line quilting friends, pillowcases lead to Christmas stockings and to quilts for new-born patriots. If you would like more information on these projects or would like to volunteer to help with these projects, please click on the poster to the right and it will direct you to the website.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of those who are volunteering their time and resources to support our troops with these projects.
