Each technical and administrative activity -- from design engineering and testing to assembly and checkout of launch vehicles and payloads -- requires purchasing and contracting. In addition to prime contracting opportunities, there are extensive subcontracting opportunities available in fulfilling needs of the major prime contractors.

Kennedy is also NASA's lead center for developing technologies in support of launch/landing and vehicle/payload processing. The Center offers a number of technologies ready for commercialization, in addition to research and partnership opportunities to businesses and research institutions in the United States.
