National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information: A national resource for professionals seeking information on the prevention, identification, and treatment of child abuse and neglect, and related child welfare issues.

National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect: The mission of the National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect (NDACAN) is to facilitate the secondary analysis of research data relevant to the study of child abuse and neglect. By making data available to a larger number of researchers, NDACAN seeks to provide a relatively inexpensive and scientifically productive means for researchers to explore important issues in the child maltreatment field

Child Welfare League of America: The Child Welfare League of America, in cooperation with the state child welfare agencies, presents the nation's first comprehensive, interactive child welfare database: the National Data Analysis System (NDAS).

National Center for Child Fatality Review: A comprehensive series of resources including a searchable directory of the State, Federal, National and International organizations which have responsibilities for child fatality review.

The Safe Child Program: The Safe Child Program is a comprehensive curriculum which teaches prevention of sexual, emotional and physical abuse by people known to the child; prevention of abuse and abduction by strangers;and safety in self-care.

National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health: A specialized MCH Library of more than 20,000 items, online educational resources, including an MCH Organizations Database of more than 2,000 records, content for the federal Combined Health Information Database (CHID), national guidelines, conference proceedings, "lessons learned," and other materials for professionals and families, electronic reference services via the NCEMCH Web site and individualized technical assistance via the Information Services project. Guidelines for Death Scene Investigation of SUIDs: CDC MMWR. Because no uniform procedure has been developed for collecting and evaluating information on sudden, unexplained infant deaths (SUIDs) in the United States, the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives recommended in 1992 that the U.S Department of Health and Human Services Interagency Panel on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) establish a standard scene investigation protocol for SUIDs.

American Academy of Pediatrics: Infant Sleep Positioning and SIDS. Parents and caregivers should place healthy infants on their backs when putting them down to sleep. This is because recent studies have shown an increase in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in infants who sleep on their stomachs. There is no evidence that sleeping on the back is harmful to healthy infants.

Student Pledge Against Gun Violence: A national observance giving students throughout the country the chance to sign a voluntary promise that they will: never carry a gun to school, never resolve a dispute with a gun, use their influence with their friends to keep them from resolving disputes with gun. The Day of National Concern about Young People and Gun Violence and national distribution of the Student Pledge will take place on October 21st, 1999.
