Remarks to Japanese Media

Christopher Hill, Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs
Outside Enoteca Restaurant, Ginza
Tokyo, Japan
October 16, 2006

ASSISTANT SECRETARY HILL: We focused on North Korea and were discussing how to implement the UN resolution. So we’re talking about implementation of various parts of the resolution and how Japan and the US can do that together.

QUESTION: We were particularly interested in the issue of maritime inspection.

ASSISTANT SECRETARY HILL: So are we, and we had a good discussion about that. And we’re going to have more discussions on that, but I can’t really give you any details, because we’re coming up with some ideas about it.
