Meeting Between Deputy Secretary Armitage and Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Vondra

Deputy Secretary Armitage met with Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Vondra January 27, 2003 to discuss Iraq, North Korea, and Afghanistan. Deputy Foreign Minister Vonda briefed Deputy Secretary Armitage on the inconclusive results of the January 24 Czech Presidential elections and possible next steps.

Deputy Secretary Armitage thanked his Czech counterpart for the Czech Republic’s contributions to Operation Enduring Freedom and Kosovo Peacekeeping Force. They also discussed preparations for the upcoming visit to Washington by Czech Foreign Minister Cyril Svoboda.
