Global Launch of Harrison Ford TV Public Service Announcements on Wildlife Trafficking Scheduled for World Environment Day, June 5

United States embassies around the world will participate in a global launch of three television public service announcements (PSAs) featuring renowned actor Harrison Ford about the illegal trade in wildlife. The launch will take place on World Environment Day, Thursday, June 5.

The U. S. launch will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium of the United Nations in New York. The event will include participation by Special Envoy of the Secretary of State for Wildlife Trafficking Issues Bo Derek and Assistant Secretary for Oceans, Environment and Science Claudia A. McMurray. Senior representatives of partners in the U.S- led Coalition Against Wildlife Trafficking, which includes the governments of Australia, Canada, Chile, India and the United Kingdom, and 13 international conservation non-governmental organizations, will also participate in the event. This event is OPEN FOR PRESS COVERAGE.

Members of the press interested in covering the U.S. launch event should arrive at the United Nations Visitors Entrance on First Avenue and East 46th Street by 1 p.m. on June 5. Once processed through the security tent, enter the lobby and check in with U.S. Mission personnel manning a USUN table near the Information Booth.
