U.S. Visit to Turkmenistan

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Evan A. Feigenbaum traveled to Turkmenistan from January 10 - 14 for a working visit. He met with Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashit Meredov on January 10 to discuss the full spectrum of issues in the U.S-Turkmenistan relationship, including economics and trade, democracy and human rights, security cooperation, education and health, and transnational issues.

Deputy Assistant Secretary Feigenbaum's visit also included meetings with past participants in U.S. exchange programs, managers and participants in U.S. government-funded technical cooperation programs, as well as civic leaders.
