Media Note Office of the Spokesman Washington, DC February 1, 2008 Meeting Of The U.S. Advisory Commission On Public DiplomacyThe U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy will meet on Thursday, February 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Room 602 (Lindner Family Commons) at the Elliot School of International Affairs, George Washington University, 1957 E Street NW, Washington, D.C. The meeting is open to the public. The Commissioners plan to discuss public diplomacy issues, including the application of political communication theory, and associated disciplines, in U.S. government public diplomacy efforts.
The Commission is a bipartisan panel created by Congress in 1948 to assess public diplomacy policies and programs of the U.S. government and of publicly funded nongovernmental organizations. The Commission reports its findings and recommendations to the President, the Congress, the Secretary of State, and the American people. The public may attend this meeting as seating capacity allows.
