Hong Kong – Falun Gong Practitioner(s) Denied Entry (Taken Question)

Question: Have we seen reports that several Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan were denied entry into Hong Kong by the government while trying to attend events surrounding the anniversary of the handover? What is our reaction?

Answer: We are aware of reports that at least one Falun Gong practitioner was denied entry into Hong Kong. We believe all individuals, regardless of their beliefs or affiliation, enjoy the right to legitimate travel and peaceful assembly. We expect that Hong Kong would continue to uphold its high standards of personal and political freedom.
