Secretary Rice To Visit the Harriet Tubman School

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will join Congressman Charlie Rangel (NY-15) on a visit to Public School No. 154, the Harriet Tubman School, on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 10:40 a.m.

Congressman Rangel invited Secretary Rice to visit this school and observe the continuing progress being made through the leadership of Principal Elizabeth Jarrett in improving the educational environment for its students, as well as their academic performance. The Harriet Tubman School is in the Congressman's district.

Secretary Rice's remarks will be open for press coverage.

Media should arrive no later than 9:30a.m. at 250 West 127th Street, New York City, New York.

Pre-set time for cameras: 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Final access time for all press: 9:30 a.m.

Media representatives planning to attend this event should present one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
