Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change

The Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change will take place at the Department of State in Washington, D.C., on Thursday and Friday, September 27-28, 2007. For information and reference documents about the meeting, please see: www.state.gov/g/oes/climate/mem. Media representatives who have pre-registered may cover OPEN PRESS portions of this meeting. Note: The deadline for pre-registration was 9:00 a.m. ET, September 25.

Media representatives must access the Department of State via the 23rd Street entrance (between C and D Streets) and are required to present one of the following forms of identification: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).

A press center located in the State Department will be available for journalists' use from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. It will include a limited number of computers with internet access and closed circuit television coverage of the OPEN PRESS potions of the meetings. Media representatives may conduct interviews in the press center. On Thursday after the open press portions of the morning program and on Friday following the President's remarks, media representatives may conduct interviews in the Dean Acheson Auditorium. State Department escorts are required for media representatives to access the press center and to move within the building. Transcripts will be posted at www.state.gov/g/oes/climate/mem.
