September 11: An International Remembrance Ceremony

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will honor those foreign nationals who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks, at a remembrance ceremony in the Benjamin Franklin Room of the Department of State on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 10:30 a.m.

 

The ceremony is pool press coverage for cameras and still photographers, and open press coverage for writers.

 

Pick up time for cameras:  9:15 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance

Pick up time for writers and still photographers:  10:00 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance

 

NOTE:  Due to the limited space in the Benjamin Franklin Room, seats are available to writers on a first come, first served basis.  A live feed will be provided for press to view this event in the State Department Press Briefing Room, room 2209.

 

Press may participate in this event upon presentation of one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
