| Notice to the Press Office of the Spokesman Washington, DC November 29, 2007 Special Satellite Video Conference Briefing on Reconstruction in Salah ad Din, IraqOn Friday, November 30 at 10:30 a.m. (EST), representatives from the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Salah ad Din, Iraq, will brief reporters at the Department of State via digital satellite video conference on reconstruction progress in Salah ad Din. Steven Buckler, Provincial Reconstruction Team Leader; Dave Bailey, USAID Representative; and Col. McBride, Commander, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will discuss current activities taking place in Salah ad Din. Reporters will be seated in the State Department’s Press Briefing Room, room 2209; the video feed of the briefing will be of broadcast quality, barring technical difficulties. This will be an on-the-record, on-camera briefing.
Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport). This feed will have the raw backhaul from Iraq only and not the interaction from the State Department Briefing Room.
