Six Party Talks: Meeting of U.S.-DPRK Bilateral Working Group in New York, March 5-6

The inaugural meeting of the U.S.-DPRK Bilateral Working Group, established in accordance with the February 13, 2007, agreement on "Initial Actions for the Implementation of the Joint Statement", will occur March 5-6 at facilities of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

Meetings will be closed to the press unless otherwise announced. Schedules are still being finalized and are subject to change.

Ambassador Hill will arrive in New York Monday afternoon. The delegations will hold an initial session in the late afternoon of March 5, followed by a dinner. They will re-convene on the morning of March 6, and discussions are expected to run into the afternoon.

After the conclusion of the discussions, Assistant Secretary Hill will hold a briefing at the New York Foreign Press Center. This event will be open to all media. An announcement with the time will be issued by New York Foreign Press Center.
