Secretary Rice hugs a Thai school girl after she led a group singing for her at Bang Sak school which was devastated by the last December's tsunami and was rebuilt as part of the U.S. reconstruction efforts in Pang-nga province, southern Thailand.Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to China, Thailand, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, from July 8-July 13, 2005. During her stops in each country Secretary Rice met with senior government officials for discussions of political and economic issues of bilateral concern, as well as global and regional matters of mutual interest such as the North Korean nuclear issue, cooperation on fighting terrorism and transnational crimes, and tsunami recovery and reconstruction efforts.
