Fayetteville, AR - U.S. Marshals and the
Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force announce the
arrest of Frankie Milton, 35, and Cannon Sizemore, 29, both having violent
pasts. Milton was arrested in Springdale, Arkansas for absconding state
supervision. Milton was convicted of murder in 1996, and sentenced to more
than 20 years in state prison. After serving approximately 10 years of his
imposed sentence, he was first paroled in January 2006.
Milton absconded shortly after being released
and was revoked back to prison. He was then released again in September
2007, and revoked once more in April 2008. After being released in June
2008, for the third time, Milton absconded just two months later and was
apprehended by the Task Force without incident. Milton was residing with
another convicted felon. He is currently in the Washington County Detention
Center, where he awaits his court hearing.
Sizemore, also a probation absconder, was
arrested on October 1, 2008 in Madison County. Sizemore, convicted of
manslaughter in 2002 and sentenced to 9 years, was arrested after a brief
scuffle and transported without further incident. Sizemore was first paroled
in December 2007 and absconded supervision in June 2008. The recent addition
of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections to the Task Force
continues to create many positive results in the Northwest Arkansas area.
The NWA Task Force and its many partners have
arrested almost 500 fugitives since its inception in October 2007. Of those
500 fugitives, more than 30 failed to register (as a sex offender), 5 child
pornography, 2 sexual indecency with a child, 23 sexual assaults, and 26
rape arrests are attributed directly to the Task Force.
The Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and
Violent Crime Task Force is comprised of the U.S. Marshals Service, Benton,
Washington, Madison, and Carroll County Sheriff’s Offices, as well as
Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Siloam Springs, and the Bentonville Police
Departments. The Arkansas Department of Community Corrections was recently
added to the Task Force. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office currently
manages the grant that funds the Task Force.
Every year, the U.S. Marshals and its associated Task Forces throughout the
country arrest more fugitives than all federal law enforcement agencies
combined. Last year, this number was more than 56,600 state and local
fugitives and more than 36,000 federal fugitives.
