Strike Team Arrest Suspects in Capital Murder |
|
Fort Worth, TX - Strike Team Officers
from the Fort Worth Police Department, along with Deputy United States
Marshals arrested Jay Allen and Malcolm Strickland on charges of Capital
Murder. Allen and Strickland are considered suspects in the murder of
Michael Myers, 59, during the robbery of the Best Western located at 6500 S.
Freeway. Myers was shot multiple times during the robbery which occurred at
approximately 4:00 am, April 21, 2008.
Members from Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST)
arrested Allen at 1300 8th Avenue, in Fort Worth. Strike Team Officers also
determined that Strickland had fled the Fort Worth area and traveled to
Amarillo, Texas. DFW FAST sought the assistance of the US Marshal’s office
in Amarillo, and at approximately 10:00 pm on April 23, 2008, Strickland was
arrested by Deputy United States Marshals and the Amarillo Police
Department, while attempting to board a bus at the Greyhound Bus Terminal.
Since the establishment of DFW FAST in January 2004, the Strike Team has
arrested over 7,300 violent fugitives. These arrests in turn have prevented
some of these suspects from continuing to victimize an unsuspecting public
and making our area a safer place to live, work and play. DFW FAST is
diverse task force consisting of local, state, and federal law enforcement
agencies from the Dallas and Fort Worth area. DFW FAST was established to
assist local, state and federal agencies in the apprehension of fugitive
felons. |
