NICEVILLE, FL - Early Monday morning, the Task Force caught up with a fugitive
they had been trying to capture since October. William Jason Adams
of Edge Avenue in Niceville was arrested at about 1 a.m. when the
Task Force and Patrol Deputies from the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office
found him hiding in an attic of another house on Edge Avenue.
Marshals and Task Force members from Okaloosa and Escambia County
Sheriff’s Offices were doing a random spot check of Adams home when
they noticed someone hiding in the dark near this house. When they
investigated, they found running footprints in the soft ground
heading toward the neighbor’s house. When they confronted one of the
residents it turned out to be a cousin who denied it was Adams and
that he last saw him several days ago getting on a Greyhound bus in
Crestview. Shortly afterwards Adams’ known girlfriend stepped out of
the house and that’s when they decided to search the house.
Adams,
who is wanted in Okaloosa County for violating his probation, was
originally arrested several years ago for Trafficking in
Amphetamines. Adams now possibly faces anywhere from 5 to 7 years in
jail. Adams was booked into the Okaloosa County
Jail. Morey will be extradited back to New Hampshire to face the
sexual assault charges. |
